CAKE DECORATOR - MON to FRI, 40 Hrs/week

This position is responsible for preparing cakes, cupcakes, sheetcakes, tarts, and other desserts for sale in our retail shop. Successful candidates will have experience decorating cakes in a commercial setting. Fondant, gum paste and modelling chocolate work is not required, but considered an asset.

Shifts are during the day Monday to Friday starts times can be flexible. This is a full time position. Some weekends may be required depending on special events. Extra hours may be required during holidays. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- At least 2 years experience in a commercial bakery as a career baker

- Strong written and verbal English skill. Ability to communicate effectively

- A passion for decorating cakes and creating beautiful, edible artwork. 

- A willingness to learn how to bake gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan.

- Ability to bake and decorate cakes accurately and efficiently

- Creative problem solving skills

- Adaptability 

- Enthusiasm and self-motivation

-Experience working in a fast pace environment

- Being a strong team player who embraces collaboration

- Ability to lift 50 lbs independently 

- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if needed (ie. wedding season or special events)

BAKERY ASSISTANT - MON to FRI, 30+ Hrs/week

We are looking for a bakery assistant to join our talented team! This position would work under the guidance of our lead baker in our production facility. Gluten-free baking experience is not required, but experience in a commercial bakery setting is. This is a great position for someone looking to gain experience, expand their baking knowledge and be part of a hard-working, dedicated team. 

This position would be early mornings Monday to Friday. Training shifts would be from 7am-2pm. Once training is complete the start time could be flexible. This position would learn a variety of recipes including but not limited to baking mixes, cinnamon buns, pizza, muffins, cookies, pies, and squares.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- A passion for baking and a willingness to learn new baking methods.

- Basic gluten-free knowledge.

- Attention to detail specifically when it comes to managing allergens inside the bakery. 

- Strong written and verbal English skill. Ability to communicate effectively.

- Punctuality.

- The ability to keep a neat and clean work station.

- Safe food handling and sanitation standards. Food handlers certificate is an asset. 

- Enthusiasm and self-motivation as some tasks will need to be completed in a timely, independent manner.

- Efficiency and adaptability when it comes to prioritizing tasks. 

- Ability to contribute to a respectful working environment.

- Pride in their work and accomplishments.

- Being a strong team player who embraces collaboration.

ASSISTANT COOK - MON to FRI, DAYS. 30+ Hrs/week

We are looking for a seasonal cook to join our dedicated production kitchen. This person would work under the guidance of our lead cook with potential to become a full time permanent position. Gluten-free cooking experience is not required, but experience in a commercial kitchen is essential.

This position will be assisting in the manufacturing of our hand breaded chicken tenders, made from scratch pot pies, soups, lasagna, croutons and seasonal items. Other duties will include, but are not limited to, packaging and labelling products, quality control, washing dishes, receiving orders, and maintaining cleanliness of the production area. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- At least 2 years experience in a commercial kitchen. Prep cooking experience is required.

- Strong written and verbal English skills. Ability to communicate effectively and read recipes accurately. 

- Basic gluten-free and vegan knowledge.

- Attention to detail specifically when it comes to managing allergens inside the kitchen. 

- An eagerness to learn different cooking methods and experiment with new ingredients.  

- Punctuality

- Adaptability

- The ability to keep a neat and clean work station

- Safe food handling and sanitation standards. Food handlers certificate is an asset. 

- Enthusiasm and self-motivation

During holiday seasons the successful candidate may be asked to put in extra hours.

POSITION FILLED: BREAD BAKER - OVERNIGHT/EVENINGS, 30+ Hrs/week

This position is responsible for preparing and baking breads, buns, muffins, cinnamon buns, mixes, pizza, pie crusts and other gluten free doughs independently or in collaboration with other team members.

Once training is complete this position will move to early mornings or evenings depending on the candidates preference/availability, and so the successful candidate will require their own means of transportation. This is a temporary position to cover a medical leave, however once the leave is over the successful candidate will be provided an alternative Monday to Friday shift to assist with daily bakery production.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- At least 2 years experience in a commercial bakery as a career baker

- Strong written and verbal English skill. Ability to communicate effectively
